Description
Some kind of morphing alien egg floating in liquid. Probably about to hatch.
This is a GIF conversion of the original APNG file. It was very kindly created by ~pifactorial who allowed me to post it up. Please also check out ~pifactorial's inspiring mathematical animations.
It's a large file so is likely to run slowly until it's fully downloaded I'm afraid.
The scene was generated using Functy (plug!), rendered using Blender and then glued together as an animated APNG using APNG Anime Maker. As before, much gratitude goes to ~Tonyralano for provided the general inspiration and know-how for making this.
The spark trails are parametric curves and the egg is a spherical function with the following formula:
radius = 2*(2+(sin(cos(t+(pi*sin(t)+a))+(p*((3+cos(t-1.5))/4))*10)**2)+(((6+cos(t))/7)*((2+sin(8*a))/3)**4)),
colour (R, G, B) = (r/8, (3+sin((a)*8))/5, (3+cos(a*8))/5).
